The Equinox was waning When the Travellers set out, Above, the Stars were sailing Over tree and root and sprout. The stellar patterns guided as They traced their dusty feet Through standing stone and ruin to The place where they would meet The ancient Weald welcomed them As one by one they came, Dressed in their faded finery And no two quite the same Amid that darkling bower There beneath the twinkling sphere The rhythm came and claimed them all To merriment and cheer! At length, the dance was ended And they sallied to the Feast The cups were quaffed! The plates licked clean Down to the morsel least.
